Grain exports from Ukraine in MY 2019-2020 may reach 50.7 million tonnes.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has raised its forecast for the grain yield in Ukraine in the 2019-2020 marketing year (MY, June 2019 through July 2020) by 2.6 million from MY 2018-2019 to 71.2 million tonnes.

Grain exports in MY 2019-2020 may reach 50.7 million tonnes, which is 300,000 tonnes up against the indicator reported in the previous MY, according to the USDA's May report.
The U.S. department also predicts an increase in Ukraine's wheat harvest (by 4 million tonnes) in MY 2019–2020 from MY 2018-2019 due to favorable weather conditions. At the same time, wheat exports are projected at 19 million tonnes.
Ukraine's maize production over the period under review may fell by 2.8 million tonnes to 33 million tonnes, while maize exports may shrink by 2.5 million tonnes to 27 million tonnes, the report said.
Barley harvest in MY 2019-2020 may reach 9 million tonnes, which is 1.4 million tonnes up from the previous marketing year. The USDA also raised its forecast for barley shipments from Ukraine by 300,000 tonnes to 4.5 million tonnes.
As UNIAN reported, Ukrainian farmers on May 2 completed sowing of early spring crops on 2.1 million hectares.
In 2018, Ukraine harvested a record high yield of grain, having threshed 70.1 million tonnes.
Earlier, experts from the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics" predicted the yield of grain in Ukraine in 2019 might shrink by 2.4% from 2018, to 68.4 million tonnes.
