The new price is almost 4% down from that set in April.
National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine has proposed that gas prices for households be reduced having sent additional agreements to all counterparties with new price of gas for deliveries on terms of public service obligations [PSO].
"The price is determined taking into account the requirements of Government Resolution No. 380 (dated May 8, 2019) to amend Cabinet Resolution No. 293 of April 3, 2019, and Resolution No. 867 (dated October 19, 2018) to approve the provision on special responsibilities of natural gas market players to ensure public interests in the said market," the company's press service said in a statement on May 13.

It is noted that the price is set at UAH 5,990 (US$229) per 1,000 cubic meters, excluding VAT and shipping cost, which is by UAH 245 ($9), or 4%, down from that set in April 2019.
"Resolution No. 867 earlier assumed that the price of gas for households, on terms of PSO, from May 1 should be UAH 7,184.8 ($275) per 1,000 cubic meters without VAT and transmission costs," the press service added.
As was earlier reported, Naftogaz on May 1 reduced gas prices for households by UAH 300 ($11) from UAH 8,550 to UAH 8,247 per 1,000 cubic meters.
