Ukraine is seeing a slowdown in economic growth as its GDP growth in the first quarter of 2019 year-over-year was 2.2% against 3.5% in the previous quarter.

If the seasonal factor is taken into account, the country's real GDP growth was 0.2% compared to the previous quarter, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said on its website.

The data of the State Statistics Service on the growth of the economy of Ukraine in the first quarter in annual terms was slightly worse than the previously published estimates of the National Bank of Ukraine, which reported 2.4% growth.

UNIAN memo. According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, real GDP growth in Ukraine in 2018 accelerated to 3.3% from 2.5% in 2017 and became the highest in the last seven years.

The state budget of Ukraine for 2019 is based on a macroeconomic forecast by the government, which expects a 3% increase in real GDP.

The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank predict Ukraine will see a 2.7% economic growth this year.
