A company from Texas has won a tender to assess the oil and gas reserves of Ukraine’s state oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy, the Ukrainian government has announced.
Naftogaz will pay $1.5 million to Ryder Scott Co. LP (Houston, Texas) for its services in exploration and independent evaluation of hydrocarbon reserves in existing and future oil and gas fields of the company and its subsidiaries, according to a statement on the Ukrainian government’s Public Procurement Web site.
Eleven companies, from the United States, the UK, Ukraine, Poland, Canada and Norway participated in the tender, with fee proposals ranging from $825,000 to $3.75 million.
According to the tender documents, the U.S. company will conduct an independent evaluation of hydrocarbon reserves in oil and gas fields of Ukrgazvydobuvannya and Chernomorneftegaz in the Russian-annexed Crimea, as well as deposits in Egypt to which Naftogaz has drilling rights.
The contract with the winning company is to be signed between March 21 and April 9 this year.
As previously reported by UNIAN, Naftogaz of Ukraine intends to attract leading Ukrainian enterprises from aerospace industry to explore new oil and gas fields using remote sensing technology.
Naftogaz of Ukraine is major state vertically integrated oil company in Ukraine, accounting for more than 97% of oil and gas production in the country.
The company specializes in developing fields, oil and gas production, and the transportation and sale of petroleum products through its own network of filling stations.
Ryder Scott Co. LP is one of the oldest and largest companies in the United States providing reserves evaluation and consulting services to the oil and gas industry. The company was founded in 1937, and operates both in the United States and around the world.
