Construction of Russia's Nord Stream 2 pipeline may be delayed as Nord Stream 2 AG has filed a generalized request with the Danish regulator for a possible postponement of the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline due to consideration of another route because of the Danish side's position.
"The completion of the project may be postponed to the second half of 2020 due to the consideration of the third route at the request of Denmark," Rosbalt reported on May 17.
The company says the pipeline system should be completed and ready for gas transmission by the end of 2020.

The pipeline is now being laid in the territorial waters of Germany, Sweden and Finland. However, Denmark refused to give Nord Stream 2 project a relevant permission.
Earlier, several climate activists got into the already laid part of the Eugal gas pipeline in Germany. They are trying to stop the construction of the pipeline, which will stretch at 485 kilometers from Greifswald to the Czech Republic. A mere 1.5 km has been laid so far.
