Ukraine redeems five-year eurobonds worth $1 bln under U.S. guarantees

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has redeemed five-year eurobonds for $1 billion issued in May 2014 under U.S. guarantees.

The bond placement rate amounted to 1,844% per annum, according to the ministry's website.

According to the cited data, this eurobond payment was the largest in the current year.

As UNIAN reported, the volume of debt payments of Ukraine in 2019 to foreign creditors will amount to $6 billion.

Among the largest payments are the redemption of $1 billion on eurobonds under U.S. guarantees in May, as well as the redemption on bonds of $660 million in September.

Payments to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will total about $1.2 billion, while amounting to about $800 million to other international financial organizations.

The most significant payments for servicing foreign debt are foreseen in March and in September – at $500 million on eurobonds.
