Liquidation procedure at three Ukrainian banks extended for 12 months

Almost 100 banks were withdrawn from the market as a clean-up move in the Ukrainian banking system in 2014-2017.

Ukraine's Deposit Guarantee Fund has extended the liquidation procedure at Kreditprombank, Diamantbank and Energobank banks for another year.

The deadline for Kreditprombank is June 2, 2020, that for Diamantbank is June 23, 2020, and for Energobank is June 11, 2020, inclusively, the Fund said on its website.

UNIAN memo. While purging Ukraine's banking system in 2014-2017, the National Bank decided to withdraw 97 banks from the market. During that period, the Deposit Guarantee Fund paid nearly UAH 90 billion, or US$4.3 billion, in bank deposit compensation to bank clients. As of May 1, some 86 banks were undergoing the liquidation procedure.
