Housing, utilities subsidies paid to households in Ukraine in first four months grow by 37.5%

The average subsidy sum in April 2019 was UAH 409.8, or US$ 15.6.

Housing and utilities subsidies paid to Ukrainian households grew by 37.5% from January to April 2019, to UAH 730.7 million, or US$27.8 million.

In particular, subsidies paid to urban households totaled UAH 467.4 million, or US$ 17.77 million, while those paid in the rural areas were estimated at UAH 263.3 million, or US$10.01 million, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said.

Some 755,100 households applied for subsidies to refund utility services in January-April 2019, which was 3.9% down on the same period of 2018.

In the first four months of 2019, housing and utilities subsidies were assigned to 536,200 urban households and  410,700 rural households.

The number of families who were entitled to subsidies in January-April 2019 increased by 23.8% year-over-year.

The average size of the assigned subsidy per households in April 2019 increased by 32.3%, year-over-year, to UAH 409.8, or US$15.6.

As UNIAN reported, residents of Ukraine in 2018 were paid UAH 2.7 billion, or US$0.103 billion, in subsidies for refunding housing and utilities costs. It was 1.5 times down from 2017.
