On May 22, a number of media reported the early termination of the IMF mission, which arrived in Kyiv on May 21. However, the IMF Resident Representative Office in Ukraine denied this information, saying the mission was working according to the previously set up two-week schedule.

Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's press service announced the head of state planned to meet with IMF experts next week, as planned.

UNIAN memo. The IMF Executive Board approved a new 14-month Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) for Ukraine in the amount of $3.9 billion. Ukraine received the first disbursement under the new program in the amount of $1.4 billion on December 21, 2018.

Another two disbursements worth $1.3 billion each are expected after the reviews of the implementation of the program's provisions in May and in November 2019.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on May 20 announced the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada and early parliamentary elections. He also proposed the current government to resign.

A few hours later, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman announced his decision to resign following the next government meeting on Wednesday, May 22.

Experts polled by UNIAN say the resignation of the prime minister may be an obstacle to continuing the current program with the International Monetary Fund, whose mission began work in Kyiv on May 21.
