The hryvnia became stronger against the euro.
The official forex rate of the hryvnia, Ukraine's currency, was set by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) for Friday, May 24, at UAH 26.335723 per U.S. dollar, making it weaker compared to the previous business day.
The official forex rate set for May 23 was UAH 26.304698 per U.S. dollar, according to the NBU's website.

The forex rate against the euro was fixed at UAH 29.335362 for May 24 against UAH 29.384978 per euro on May 23.
On Thursday, May 23, quotations of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar in the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine were UAH 26.36-26.38 per U.S. dollar by the close of trading.
Quotations of the hryvnia against the euro were at UAH 29.35-29.37 per euro.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakiv Smolii said on May 23 that political uncertainty in Ukraine over the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, and the possible resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers had not affected the local financial market yet.
