The procedure is aimed at promoting the development of a fair social security system in Ukraine.
Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved the procedure for verifying and monitoring state payments related to pensions, allowances, benefits, subsidies, and other social payments.

"The verification of state payments carried out by the Finance Ministry is aimed at promoting the development of a fair social security system in Ukraine, improving the targeting of the said payments, and optimizing budget expenditures," the ministry's press service said in a statement on May 23.
According to the verification procedure, the relevant information will be used to define the right of Ukrainians to receive such payments. The procedure for providing recommendations by the Finance Ministry to the agencies that handle such payments is also defined.
The ministry says the verification procedure is aimed at ensuring that the final recipients of the payments are those citizens who need state assistance.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported the Finance Ministry's draft law on verification and monitoring of state payments. The document will help to resolve all legal and organizational bases for verification and efficiency of such payments in Ukraine. According to the results of verification of state payments in 2018, the ministry provided more than 7.5 million recommendations for verifying about 2.6 million recipients of social assistance.
