NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy has paid a sixth tranche of $15 million to Russian gas monopoly Gazprom as an advance payment for the supply of natural gas, the press service of Naftogaz reported on Friday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"We have paid another $15 million," the company said.
Asked about for which month the company sent the next tranche, the press service of Naftogaz said: "There is no reference to a particular month."
As UNIAN reported earlier, according to Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn, Ukraine will not transfer large payments for Russian gas due to the current decrease in domestic gas consumption.
The next talks on the so-called ‘summer package’ on the conditions, cost and volumes of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine from April 1, 2015 will be held on March 20 in Brussels.
According to Demchyshyn, the Ukrainian side is planning to raise the questions of increasing by 30% the price Ukraine charges for gas transit through Ukrainian territory, and the Russia’s granting of discounts on natural gas supplies to Ukraine.
