Naftogaz pays almost US$1.8 bln in taxes to national budget in Jan-May

The Naftogaz Group's contribution accounted for over 15.9% of the national budget revenue over the period under review.

National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine in January-May 2019 paid about UAH 47.9 billion (US$1.8 billion) in taxes and fees to Ukraine's national budget.

"According to operational data, in January-May 2019, the Naftogaz Group paid about UAH 47.9 billion in taxes and duties to the state and local budgets," the company's press service said in a statement on June 11.

The Naftogaz Group's contribution accounted for more than 15.9% of the national budget revenue in the first five months of 2019, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Naftogaz in 2018 paid UAH 137.8 billion (US$5.2 billion) in taxes and dividends, which was almost a third more than in 2017.

The corresponding sum Naftogaz paid in 2017 was over UAH 107.3 billion ($4 billion).

Naftogaz develops oil and gas fields, produces crude oil and natural gas. Its core business is also transportation and trade in fuel through its own network of filling stations.
