The European Union has already invested EUR 6.6 million in support of projects of cross-border cooperation of local communities in Ukraine with neighboring regions in Belarus and Moldova, which were implemented in 2015-2019, head of Ukraine's delegation, representative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Anna Belokolos, told a press conference summarizing the results of said cooperation programs.

"For the two projects each, Belarus-Ukraine and Moldova-Ukraine, EUR 3.3 million was allocated, with a total of EUR 6.6 million," she said.

According to Belokolos, these programs should be extended, as there is considerable interest on the part of the regions.

"This is a significant contribution, since such projects include not only obtaining financing, but also developing the region, encouraging communities to introduce their own initiatives, and more actively participate in international and regional competitions. Such programs help solve common cross-border problems, as well as stimulate economic growth," she added.
