"We are continuing negotiations on the first concession road Lviv-Krakovets. In autumn, we will propose that the government call a tender for the first concession [road]," he said at a government meeting on June 12.

As UNIAN reported, Ukravtodor's CEO earlier stated that the construction of the first toll road from Lviv to Krakovets would be launched in 2020.

In May 2015, Ukravtodor announced a tender to build Ukraine's first concession-based road connecting Lviv to Krakovets, the construction of which has been planned for more than a decade. In September 2015, it was reported that the bids submitted by the Ukrainian Highways company and the French Bouygues firm did not meet the requirements set out by authorities. In this regard, the Infrastructure Ministry said it planned to again call a tender, but in a new format, after Ukrainian legislation on concessions and public-private partnerships is improved.

On February 27, 2018, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, passed bill No. 6766 to amend certain legislative acts of Ukraine related to the construction and operation of highways, which allows to build and operate the Ukrainian roads under concession contracts.
