Non-residents increase investments in Ukrainian government bonds to US$1.84 bln

The current volume of government bonds in non-residents' portfolio reached 6.3% of their total turnover.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) says the investment by non-residents into government domestic loan bonds, according to the results of the weekly auction by UAH 5.4 billion (US$204 million), or 12.6%, to UAH 48.7 billion (US$1.84 billion).

Since the beginning of the year, non-residents' investment into Ukrainian government bonds has risen by UAH 42.3 billion (US$1.6 billion), or almost eight-fold, the regulator said.

The current volume of government bonds in non-residents' portfolio reached 6.3% of their total turnover, against the share of below 1% as of year-start.

As UNIAN reported, the injection of non-residents into Ukraine's government domestic loan bonds in 2018 increased by UAH 1.13 billion (US$42 million), or by 21.7%.
