Ukraine issues eurobonds after 15 years' break

The eurobonds worth EUR 1 billion were issued at 6.75% per annum.

Ukraine's Finance Minister Oksana Markarova says the country has issued euro-denominated eurobonds after a 15-year break.

"This is a strategic placement [of eurobonds] for Ukraine, based on European integration, growth in exports to the European Union, and a significant increase in inflows and outflows in the euro," she wrote on Facebook on June 13.

According to the minister, the eurobonds worth EUR 1 billion were issued with a seven-year maturity period and a yield of 6.75% per annum.

Markarova also noted the work of a team of specialists who prepared the issue of the sovereigns, and outlined the prospects for such a step. "[These are] confirmation of trust from regular investors and attraction of new ones," she said.
