Top five reasons for labor migration from Ukraine – study

The European Business Association (EBA) says one of the key reasons for labor migration from Ukraine is the low standard of living and dissatisfaction with the state of the country's security system.

"Almost half of the participants in the survey 'Ukraine: Happiness Barometer [2019]' are satisfied with their current work (44%), although 51% consider the level of their income insufficient for their well-being ... Some 72% of respondents are not satisfied with the state of security in the country and feel insecure about their own future," the Association's press service said on June 13, referring to the study, which has been conducted by the EBA since 2018.

As reported, 62% of the polled Ukrainians negatively assess the country's legal framework and regulation, in particular, regarding the absence of discrimination and the level of democratic freedoms.

At the same time, 58% of respondents think that the country's health care system is poor, while 42% consider it as satisfactory or good.

Some 52% think that education system in Ukraine is satisfactory, whereas 48% pointed out that it is poor and they are partially or completely dissatisfied with it.

A total of 1,118 respondents from the Internet audience have been polled. Kyiv residents accounted for 80%. The share of people aged 26-40 was 65%. Most of the respondents are office workers who occupy various positions: from assistants to managers.
