The company in June will cut the price by 7.3%.

The National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine has calculated the new price of natural gas for households and other consumers under special obligations, which will be valid in June.

"In accordance with the government's resolution of June 5, it will be UAH 5,553.89 [US$210] per 1,000 cubic meters, which is 7.3% down from May," company's press service said.

"Thus, in June, the price of gas, at which Naftogaz sells it to regional gas companies and supplies to consumers under public service obligations (PSO) will decrease by 7.3%, or by UAH 436.11 [US$16.51] compared to May [prices]," the press service added.

It is reported that the final price of gas for consumers in Kirovohrad region, including VAT, delivery costs and supplier margins in June will be UAH 7,755.87 ($294). The final price in other regions depends on the gas distribution tariff set by the National Energy and Utilities Regulations Commission (NEURC) for the relevant regional or city gas companies. It is noted that gas suppliers are obliged to inform their consumers about the final price.

According to the press service, Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev once again expressed hope that the government would soon decide to completely cancel price regulation, which in addition to transparent pricing will allow end consumers choosing their gas suppliers.
