"A regular flight between Kyiv and Batumi [Georgia] has been carried out with a delay today," he said on June 18. "But we hope that this airline, like others, understood this was not a joke and we would not let [them] neglect passenger safety [rules] and regulations."

"We're asking air passengers to take into account Infrastructure Ministry ratings published on a monthly basis when they choose their airlines," he added.

Omelyan says that the aviation regulator will take appropriate measures in relation to those airlines that are behind their schedules. "An airline is obliged to inform passengers if flights have been rescheduled, its representative should be in touch with passengers, compensate for a delay or cancellation of a flight," the minister said.

As reported by UNIAN, YanAir's license on June 7 was suspended over the failure to meet security standards.
