Ukrainians spent US$24.9 bln in Q1

The expenditures were UAH 40 billion ($1.5 billion) down from the figure reported in Q4 2018.

Ukrainians spent UAH 655 billion (US$24.9 billion) in the first quarter of 2019 (Q1) with the largest share of spending on health care and utilities.

The expenditures over the period under review were UAH 40 billion ($1.5 billion) down from the figure reported in Q4 2018, the Ukrainian TSN news service on June 24, referring to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Ukrainian citizens cut their spending on transportation services and foodstuff, alcohol and tobacco, household appliances, leisure, clothing, shoes, and restaurants. At the same time, they paid more for housing and utilities services, as well as health care.

As UNIAN reported earlier, most Ukrainians faced lack of income to cover their expense in 2018. A third of them had to borrow the funds.
