NBU's purchases of foreign currency shrink by 66.7% in third week of June

The NBU did not sell the currency over the period under review.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on the third week of June 2019 bought US$40.5 million on the interbank forex market to replenish the country's international reserves, which was 66.7% down against the previous week.

Since June 1, the NBU has bought $278.3 million. At the same time, the regulator did not sell the currency, according to the regulator's website.

Since the beginning of the year, the central bank's purchases of foreign currency have exceeded sales seven-fold, or by $1.364 billion, the report said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the central bank in May 2019 bought $160.6 million on the interbank forex market to replenish the country's international reserves. The regulator bought $203.6 million, while sold $43 million during that month.
