According to Omelchenko, expanding the list of Russian goods falling under the embargo in Ukraine is a response to the restrictions imposed by the Russian authorities in April 2019.

"This, in particular, is the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of April 18, 2019, No. 460-25 'On protective measures in trade and economic relations with Ukraine.' This is the most significant expansion of the list of prohibited goods imported from the Russian Federation over the past three years. It is noteworthy that the measures were introduced on the basis of proposals from various industry associations and individual Ukrainian producers," she noted.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Government of Russia's Decree No. 460-25 dated April 18, 2019, extended restrictions on the import of goods, the country of origin of which is Ukraine, and for the first time banned the export of a number of goods from Russia to Ukraine.
