Ukraine harvests nearly 3 mln tonnes of grain as of June 27

Ukrainian agrarians harvested 2.7 million tonnes of grain as of June 27 in the country's 11 regions.

"As of June 27, Ukrainian agrarians started harvesting early grain and leguminous crops in 11 regions. In general, field works were carried out on an area of 847,000 hectares (9% of the target) with 2.7 million tonnes of grain threshed there," the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's press service said on June 28.

In particular, the farmers harvested 1 million tonnes of winter wheat from an area of 330,000 hectares (5% of the target), 1.5 million tonnes of barley from 452,000 hectares (18%), and 135,000 tonnes of peas from 65,000 hectares (23%).

In addition, Ukrainian farmers continue to harvest rapeseed, having collected 190,000 tonnes of this product from an area of 104,000 hectares (8%).

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2018, Ukraine harvested a record high yield of grain, having threshed 70.1 million tonnes.
