Deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods, services 4% up in Jan-May

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 13%.

The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in January-May 2019 was estimated at US$3.168 billion, which was 4% up from the deficit reported year-over-year (y-o-y).

The deficit of foreign trade in commodities over the period under review grew by 13%, to $3.918 billion, while the surplus of foreign trade almost doubled, to $750 million.

As UNIAN reported earlier, citing the National Bank of Ukraine, the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 totaled $11.492 billion, which was 32.9% up from the deficit posted in 2017.

The State Statistics Service in turn estimated the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services in 2018 at $5.826 billion, which was 2.3 times up against the deficit recorded in 2017.
