Ukrainians' incomes grow by 7.7% in Q1 – stats

Ukrainian households' incomes in the first quarter of 2019 (Q1) increased by 7.7% year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 803.4 billion (30.7 billion).

"Disposable income was UAH 14,398 [$550] per capita," the State Statistics Service said on July 2.

In particular, salary accounted for 50.4% in the income structure (49.4% in Q1 2018), profit and mixed income for 14.5% (14.2%), property income for 1.8% (1.9%), and social assistance and other current transfers for 33.3% (34.5%).

Ukrainians' spending over the period under review stood at UAH 852.4 billion ($32.5 billion), while savings declined by UAH 49 billion ($1.9 billion).

With regard to the spending structure in Q1 2019, the share of goods and services purchases was 94.9% (91.2% in Q1 2018), while that of current taxes on income, property, and other current transfers was 11.2% (10.2%).

According to the State Statistics Service, these are preliminary calculations. The finalized report on households' income and expenditures in January-March 2019 is yet to be  published.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the average nominal salary of a full-time employee grew by 17.4% in May 2019 year-over-year, to UAH 10,239, or $391.
