Ukraine among top three agri-exporters to EU, after U.S. and Brazil

It shipped produce worth almost EUR 6.3 billion.

Ukraine was among the top three agricultural exporters to the European Union (EU) May 2018 through April 2019.

"The most important origins for EU agri-food imports over the past 12 months are the USA (EUR 12.9 billion) that overtook Brazil (EUR 11.7 billion), followed by Ukraine (EUR 6.3 billion), and China (EUR 5.9 billion)," according to the European Commission's "Monitoring EU Agri-Food Trade: Development until April 2019," published on June 28, 2019.

On a year-on-year basis, the value of agri-food imports continued to grow impressively from the United States (EUR 2.4 billion; 23% up) and Ukraine (EUR 0.8 billion, 14% up), it said.

"The value of April 2019 EU agri-food imports compared to April 2018 increased most from Ukraine (EUR 194 million up), China (EUR 93 million up), New Zealand (EUR 50 million up), and Morocco (EUR 43 million up)," the monitoring said.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine in 2018 increased agri-exports to the EU by 8.7%, to $6.3 billion.
