Ukraine’s deficit of balance of payments in January-February $1.6 billion

The deficit of Ukraine’s balance of payments in January-February 2015 amounted to $1.633 billion, which is 2.5 times less as compared to the $4.073 billion recorded in January-February 2014, according to a report on the Web site of the National Bank of Ukraine.

In February, the deficit of the balance of payments amounted to $743 million, which is almost three times less than the deficit for the same period last year.

According to the report, the current account deficit in January-February compared to the same period last year decreased by 14% and amounted to $764 million (in February a deficit of $405 million), while the financial account deficit was reduced by 3.7 times to $869 million (in February it was in deficit by $338 million).

According to the regulator, the net inflow of foreign direct investments in January-February amounted to $382 million (in February $274 million), while in the same period last year there was recorded outflow of $320 million.

In February, the negative balance on loans and bonds amounted to $1 billion, of which net payments to national management sector amounted to $86 million, to the banking sector - $363 million, and to other sectors - $587 million.
