Vehicle output in Ukraine declines by 24% in H1

The output of motor vehicles in Ukraine declined by 24% in January-June 2019 (H1) year-over-year (y-o-y), to 2,949 units.

In total, 2,532 passenger cars were assembled over the period under review, which was 24% down y-o-y, the Ukrautoprom Association said on July 8.

Twenty-one trucks were manufactured in H1, which was 81% down y-o-y, it said.

Production of buses in January-June 2019 grew by only one unit y-o-y, to 396 vehicles.

The output of passenger cars dropped by 15% in June alone y-o-y, to 504 units, the report said.

At the same time, all statistics on passenger cars were once again generated only due to semi-knocked-down [SKD] assembly at Eurocar's plant located in Zakarpattia region.

In June 2019, the manufacture of buses in Ukraine decreased by 29%, to 55 units.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the production of motor vehicles in Ukraine declined by 23% in 2018 from 2017, to 6,616 units, according to Ukrautoprom.
