The objective of the strategy is to determine a long-term state policy aimed at ensuring a steady increase in exports of products of domestic agriculture, food and processing industries, the ministry's press service said following a government meeting on Wednesday, July 10.

Strategic directions for the development of Ukraine's agri-exports will be boosting production and the supply of agricultural products onto foreign markets, increasing the share of value-added products in the export commodity structure, as well as opening new markets and expanding export opportunities for small- and medium-size enterprises.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2018 Ukraine's foreign trade in agricultural products increased by US$1.7 billion, to US$24.3 billion. Exports of Ukrainian agricultural products reached a record US$18.8 billion, while imports stood at US$5.5 billion.
