President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu the prospects for uniting the energy grids of the two countries with that of continental Europe.
"Today we held very productive negotiations, paying special attention to the prospects for economic cooperation," Zelensky told a joint press conference following his talks with Sandu in Kyiv, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
According to Zelensky, in 2018, the trade turnover between Ukraine and Moldova grew by 11%, to almost $1 billion.

"I think that in the near future. we will reach the same indicator easily, only without the word 'almost'," he added.
"We discussed the prospects for uniting the power grids of Ukraine and Moldova with that of continental Europe. I assured the Moldovan side of Ukraine's reliability as an electricity supplier," said the president.
