It is important to carry out privatization with the maximum benefits, and preferably with the participation of foreign investors, Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius has said.
The ministry is intending to submit to the Cabinet in mid-April a list of companies subject to privatization in the near future, as well as make changes to assets disposal procedure, he said.
"We will submit the agreed list for further privatization to the cabinet in the near future and then to parliament. In addition, we are currently preparing changes in the procedure on disposing assets. Earlier this scheme was opaque and imperfect. The state has not hired advisers, which was normal. In two weeks you will see the list and changes.
"I would like to make sales to Western strategic investors. They are more transparent. And it should be noted that the sale of 3G licenses has shown that interest of the foreign investors in Ukraine remains at a high level."
Abromavicius also said that investors are interested in agricultural assets, infrastructure facilities and other assets.
As UNIAN reported earlier, according to the state budget approved for the current year, it is expected to raise UAH 17 billion from privatization and UAH 544 million from leasing payments.
