Ukrainian farmers thresh 21.6 mln tonnes of early grains as of July 19

Ukrainian farmers harvested 21.6 million tonnes of early grains from 6.1 million hectares as of July 19, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.

In particular, 15.4 million tonnes of winter wheat was threshed from 4.1 million hectares, which is 63% of the plan, with an average yield of 37.1 c/ha; 5.6 million tonnes of barley from 1.7 million hectares, or 69% of the plan, with a yield of 32.4 c/ha; 537,000 tonnes of peas from 237,000 hectares, or 84% of the plan, with a yield of 26.5 c/ha.

In addition, Ukrainian agrarians as of today threshed 32,000 tonnes of rye from 12,000 hectares (10%), and 12,000 tonnes of oats from 5,000 hectares (3%).

Also, according to the ministry, 2.4 million tonnes of winter rapeseed was threshed from 1 million hectares, or 79% of the forecast.

As UNIAN reported, on May 2, Ukrainian farmers completed planting early spring crops, having sown 2.1 million hectares.

Grain harvest in Ukraine in 2018 amounted to a record 70.1 million tonnes.
