Ukraine's Central Bank buys almost US$500 mln on interbank market since July 1

The National Bank of Ukraine bought US$321.2 million during the first week of July alone.

Ukraine's Central Bank has bought US$499.7 million on Ukraine's interbank market since July 1, 2019, to replenish the international reserves.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) bought US$321.2 million during the first week of July 2019, US$138.5 million during the second week, and US$40 million during the third week, the NBU said on its website.

The regulator did not sell the currency during that period.

Since the beginning of the year, the purchase of foreign currency by the National Bank has exceeded its sale by US$1.907 billion, or by nine times.

As UNIAN reported, the National Bank in June 2019 replenished the international reserves of Ukraine by purchasing US$322.3 million on the interbank forex market.
