Industrial output in Ukraine slides 2.3% in June y-o-y

The drop is seen against the rise in the previous month.

Industrial output in Ukraine in June 2019 fell by 2.3% year-on-year, that's without taking into account the calendar day effect adjustment, the State Statistics Service reports.

The drop is seen against a 1.6% rise in May.

According to the stats agency, industrial output in June fell 1.3% y-o-y, taking into account the adjustment to the calendar day effect.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine saw a 5.8% rise in agricultural production in the first half of 2019.

According to the State Statistics Service, the largest drop in June in annual terms was recorded in the production of electrical equipment (35.1%), woodworking industry (13.7%), and textile production and mechanical engineering (13.3%).

The largest growth was recorded in the extraction of hard and brown coal (9.4%), chemical industry (6.3%), and extraction of metal ores (5.1%).

The State Statistics Service recalled that the data are given excluding the occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as well as those of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As UNIAN reported, industrial output rose in May 2019 slowed to 1.6% from 5.2% in April, that's without taking into account the adjustment for the calendar day effect.

In 2018, industrial output in Ukraine increased by 1.1% after sliding 0.1% in 2017.
