Ukraine's Finance Ministry borrows over UAH 7 bln

Ukraine's Finance Ministry has borrowed UAH 6.953 billion, or US$271.2 million, to replenish the national budget, at a scheduled auction for the placement of government domestic loan bonds.

The hryvnia funds were raised through the placement of securities with 84-, 189-, 350-, and 1,022-day maturity periods and a weighted average yield of 16.63%, 16.73%, 16.99%, and 16.55% per annum, respectively, the ministry said on its website on July 23.

No securities have been placed in foreign currency.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Finance Ministry last week boasted about this year's biggest borrowing on the national market after government domestic loan bonds were placed worth a total of almost US$1.3 billion.
