Ukraine fully uses EU's nine duty-free agri-export quotas

The quotas for honey, sugar, cereals and flour, processed starch, grape and apple juice, wheat, maize, and creamery butter have been used by 100%.

Ukraine had fully used the European Union's nine duty-free quotas for agri-exports as of July 22, 2019.

The quotas for honey, sugar, cereals and flour, processed starch, grape and apple juice, wheat, maize, and creamery butter have been used by 100%, the press service of the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business reported.

"The acceleration of the quota closing pace and more active trade with the EU are noticeable, since on the same date last year seven quotas for duty-free exports from Ukraine to the EU were closed," the press service noted.

In addition, the quota for exports of barley to the EU was used by 79%, that for poultry meat supplies was met by 75%, for malt and wheat fiber by 58%, and for starch by 53%.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine in 2018 completely used fifteen quotas for duty-free exports of agricultural products to the EU. Last year, Ukraine boosted agri-exports to the EU by 8.7%, to US$6.3 billion.
