The first hearing on the gas dispute between Ukraine and the Russian Federation has been held in Stockholm, Sweden, the chairman of the board of the NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy Andriy Kobolev said on Ukrainian television’s 5 Channel on Thursday, according to Ukrainian news service TSN.
According to Kobolev, the Ukrainian side has filed a final lawsuit and now it is expecting a response from Russia.
"The first hearing has already taken place, and I think that in the beginning of next year we have a very good chance of getting a final decision," he said.
Kobolev also said that he thought there was a good chance that Ukraine would win the Stockholm arbitration case.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Stockholm court had accepted a submission from Ukraine with regard to intermediate gas prices.
