Average monthly wage in Ukraine over calendar year up 18%, to $428

The average nominal wage in June increased by 5.3% against May.

The average nominal wage of a full-time employee in Ukraine in June 2019 increased year-on-year by 18%, to UAH 10,783 (US$428), the State Statistics Service reports.

It is also noted that the average nominal wage in June increased by 5.3% against May.

The real wage index in June 2019 compared with May 2019 was 105.8%, and 108.1% on year.

The State Statistics Service notes that the average nominal wage of a full-time employee at enterprises, institutions, and organizations in June 2019 amounted to UAH 10,783, which is 2.6 times higher than the minimum wage (UAH 4,173, or $165).

As UNIAN reported earlier, from January 1, 2019 the minimum wage in Ukraine increased from UAH 3,723 ($148) to UAH 4,173.

The National Bank expects a slowdown in wage growth, forecasting an increase in nominal wages by 16% in 2019 and by 10% in 2020, respectively, or by 7% and 5% in real terms.
