Ukraine, EU sign deal to raise 2.5 times annual quota for poultry meat exports

These changes will come into force after they are ratified by the two parliaments.

Ukraine and the European Union have signed an agreement to gradually increase the annual quota for Ukrainian poultry meat exporters by 2.5 times, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade reported.

"On July 30, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv signed an agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on increasing the quota for Ukrainian exporters of poultry meat, provided for by the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement," reads the statement.

The press service noted that the annual quota for poultry meat will be gradually increased by 2.5 times. These changes will come into force after being ratified by the two parliaments.

As UNIAN reported, in January-April, Ukraine ranked among TOP3 chicken meat exporters to the European Union.

According to the State Fiscal Service, exports of poultry meat and by-products from Ukraine in 2018 increased by 21.2% in real terms, amounting to 328,900 tonnes, and by 30% in monetary terms – to $506.6 million.
