The average monthly salary in Kyiv in the first half of 2019 was 18% up year-over-year.
The average monthly salary in the city of Kyiv in the first six months of 2019 was UAH 15,183, or US$594.53 at the official forex rate, which is 18% higher than the first half of 2018.
"According to the latest statistics, the average monthly salary in the city of Kyiv is UAH 15,183, which is 18% higher than the same period last year," the press service of Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) reported, citing Director of the KCSA Economy and Investment Department Natalya Melnyk as saying.

In the first half of 2019, the city saw positive trends in social and economic development, she said. In particular, the unemployment rate fell to 6.7%.
According to her, "we've got confident positive indicators in commerce; in particular, retail turnover grew by 14.4%, and exports and imports of goods by 21.4% and 11.6%, respectively."
Also, construction work in the capital increased by 19.5% in the first half of this year.
