As of August 5, Ukrainian farmers threshed 35 million tonnes of early grains from ​​9.1 million hectares, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food said.

In particular, 25.8 million tonnes of wheat were harvested from ​​6.3 million hectares, which is 93% of the forecast, with an average yield of 41 c/ha; 8.1 million tonnes of barley from ​​2.4 million hectares (92% of the forecast), with a yield of 33.7 c/ha; 593,000 tonnes of peas from ​​259,000 ha (99% of the forecast), with a yield of 22.9 c/ha.

In addition, to date, 233,000 tonnes of rye has been harvested from an area of ​​86,000 ha (73%) and 175,000 tonnes of oats from ​​71,000 ha (39%).

Also, according to the agency, 3 million tonnes of winter rapeseed was harvested from an area of ​​1.2 million hectares (98% of the target).

As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 2, Ukrainian farmers completed the sowing of early spring crops on 2.1 million hectares.

The grain harvest in Ukraine in 2018 amounted to a record 70.1 million tonnes.

According to the Ukrhydrometeocenter, Ukraine in 2019 should expect a high yield of grain and leguminous crops, while the heat wave in June hindered record high volumes.
