"To restore safe train runs on this section, Ukrzaliznytsia's regional branch, Donetsk Railways, and specialists from the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) Headquarters have checked and prepared the relevant infrastructure. Commuter trains from Volnovakha to the Pivdennodonbaska station through the Velyko-Anadol station have not been operated since 2014," Ukrzaliznytsia's press service said on August 6.

Donetsk Railways CEO Serhii Buhaiov says railroad workers are aware of the great social importance of commuter rail services in Donbas, especially in the territories located near the contact line in eastern Ukraine.

"A year ago, Ukrzaliznytsia launched the upgraded commuter trains running from Mariupol to Volnovakha in Donetsk region. And today we have restored traffic on the Volnovakha-Pivdennodonbaska section," the press service quoted Buhaiov as saying.

Four commuter trains will be running along the Melitopol-Pivdennodonbaska section: Nos. 6162, 6105, 6108, and 6181.
