Talks on gas supplies between Ukraine, Russian and the European Union have been scheduled to take place in Berlin on April 14, an EU official has confirmed.
The main topics on the agenda for the talks include gas prices, pumping gas into Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities, and financial assistance for Ukraine, said Anna-Kaisa Itkonen, spokesperson of the vice-president of the EC in charge of the Energy Union, Maroš Šefčovič.
"I can confirm the next round of trilateral talks between the Commission, Russia and Ukraine next Tuesday in Berlin" Itkonen said.
As previously reported by UNIAN, on April 1, Naftogaz of Ukraine and Russian Gazprom signed a three-month contract for supply of Russian gas to Ukraine at a price of $248 per thousand cubic meters. According to the Energy Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn, the price of gas Ukraine currently purchases from Europe is about $270-280 per thousand cubic meters.
