Kyiv court to fine Shell gas stations US$3.16 mln

Kyiv's Commercial Court has decided to recover from Alliance Holding LLC, which is Shell entity operating its retail fuel network in Ukraine, a fine in the amount of UAH 80.039 million (US$3.16 million) for violating antitrust laws when setting retail prices for fuel in 2013-2016.

The relevant information was posted in the Unified Register of Court Decisions.

Thus, the court ordered Alliance Holding LLC to pay a fine of UAH 39.7 million (US$1.58 million) for non-competitive actions on the market, UAH 39.7 million (US$1.58 million) in penalty, and UAH 616,000 (US$24,386) worth of court fees to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

The company has the right to appeal within 20 days from the date of publication.

The court decision shall enter into force if it is not appealed within the specified time.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in October 2016, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine fined several oil market operators for UAH 204.3 million (US$8.08 million) for conspiracy in setting retail fuel prices in 2013-2016.

The investigation established that from January 2013 to January 2016, the defendants simultaneously or almost simultaneously (with an interval of several days) changed retail prices for A-95 brand gasoline and diesel fuel.
