The company said that coal for the Luhansk TPP should have been purchased and stockpiled in advance.
The decision adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, obliging NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine to sell natural gas to DTEK Skhidenergo LLC at a price 40% lower than the price set for households will cost the national budget up to UAH 300 million (US$11.85 million) per month.
"Now one non-monopoly company will get the right to buy gas from us 40% cheaper than households do," Naftogaz wrote on Facebook.
The company recalled that, preparing for possible abrupt termination of gas transit from Russia, Naftogaz has raised funds and has been purchasing additional volumes of gas.
The press service, rather sarcastically, noted that coal for the Luhansk TPP could also have been purchased and stockpiled in advance.

"But coal is a completely different matter. You can't deliver it in advance and stockpile it, right? And who would have thought that Russia would be so mean to the residents of Luhansk region whom it had just promised passports. Such an annoying surprise, right?" reads the report.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine obliged Naftogaz of Ukraine to sell natural gas to DTEK Skhidenergo at a price 40% lower than the current gas price set for the population, which should ensure uninterrupted supply of energy resources in Luhansk region.
