Ukraine imports 4.86 bcm of gas since year-start

The agency says Swiss-registered companies have supplied the largest volumes, that is 1.7 bcm, worth $372.8 million.

Ukraine in January-June 2019 imported 4.86 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas totaling $1.06 billion, the State Statistics Service reports.

The agency says Swiss-registered companies have supplied the largest volumes, that is 1.7 bcm, worth $372.8 million.

Some 1.57 bcm worth $329.7 million came from Germany, 356 million cubic meters (mcm) worth $72.9 million – from Hungary, 292.8 mcm worth $63.8 million – from Poland, 246 mcm worth $51.8 million – from the Czech Republic, 224.3 mcm worth $63.6 million – from Austria, 172.7 mcm worth $38.5 million – from France, 106.6 mcm worth $28.75 million – from the UK, and 88.6 mcm worth $23 million – from Luxembourg.

As UNIAN reported, in 2018 Ukraine imported 10.39 billion cubic meters of natural gas totaling $3.12 billion.

At the end of November 2015, Ukraine dropped gas purchases from Russia.

In general, in 2015, Ukraine doubled the imports of natural gas from Europe against 2014 to 10.3 bcm.

In 2016, Ukraine imported 11.1 bcm of gas from the EU alone, while in 2017 it was 13.9 bcm. The total cost of imported gas in 2017 amounted to $3.228 billion.
