Naftogaz offers non-industrial consumers to make advance payments for gas at fixed prices until Sep 25, to stock up for winter

National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine has come up with a new service, titled "Gas Reserve",  offering non-industrial customers to buy up gas in September at a low summer price to use it later, during the heating season.

"Household consumers will be able to purchase up to 25,000 cubic meters of gas under these conditions," Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev said.

"This amount is sufficient to meet the needs of households throughout the winter. The offer will be available until Sep 25. The selling price of Naftogaz to gas distributors as part of this project is UAH 4,874.42 per 1,000 cubic meters (excluding VAT, transportation and distribution costs)," the statement says.

The company notes that for the ultimate convenience of consumers, Naftogaz offered all gas distribution companies serving household consumers to partake in the project.

"Gas price for the households over the past five months has decreased by 25%. Now it is lower than a year ago. There is a risk that gas price will rise in winter against the increasing demand. This is indicated by the current exchange forecasts. Many of our commercial customers have already fixed their gas costs by making an advance payment for the desired volumes. Now this opportunity is also available for household consumers. Such an offer is available in many developed markets," the press service quoted Kobolyev as saying.
