Ukraine's central bank boosts foreign currency purchases by 1.3 times on Aug 19-23

The regulator did not sell currency within two weeks.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on August 19-23, 2019, boosted purchases of foreign currency on the interbank forex market by 1.3 times, to US$.79.5 million from $59.8 million posted the previous week, August 12-16, 2019.

The regulator did not sell currency within two weeks, according to the NBU's website.

Since the beginning of the year, the central bank's purchases of foreign currency have exceeded its sales by 12.9 times, or by $2.958 billion, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the central bank in July 2019 bought $1.3 million on the interbank forex market to replenish the country's international reserves.
