Ukrtransgaz cuts losses by 47.4% in H1

The company's net revenue from products sales over the period under review shrank by 2.1%, to UAH 26.58 billion, or $1 billion.

The state-owned operator of Ukraine's gas transmission system (GTS), Ukrtransgaz, in January-June 2019 (H1) reported UAH 9.421 million (US$374,444) in loss, which was 47.4% down year-over-year (y-o-y).

The operator's net revenue from products sales in H1 shrank by 2.1%, to UAH 26.58 billion, or $1 billion, while its gross loss dropped by almost 68.8%, to UAH 2.304 billion ($91.6 million) y-o-y, according to the company's report.

Over the period under review, cost of sales at Ukrtransgaz was estimated at UAH 28.88 billion ($1.1 million).

As UNIAN reported earlier, in 2018, Ukrtransgaz increased its net loss by a third from 2017, to UAH 32.6 billion ($1.3 billion).

UNIAN memo. Ukrtransgaz operates 12 underground gas storages (USFs) with a total storage capacity of about 31 bcm. The USFs are an integral part of Ukraine's gas supply system and gas transit through its territory. The company is also the operator of trunk gas pipelines carrying gas from Russia to the EU. Ukrtransgaz is wholly owned by NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
